Our Staff

The Reverend Bob May, M.Div., D.D. (left), and
The Reverend Alan Liphart, M.Div. (right)

Our congregation is blessed to have two of the most passionate and evangelical Pastors in the nation here in our Church. The Reverend Robert E. May, Master of Divinity, Doctor of Divinity, and the Reverend Alan Liphart, Master of Divinity, bring life and the word of God to us every week. Join us for an inspirational message this Sunday and see just 2 of the reasons why our Congregation continues its trajectory of growth.

Tom Bowers - Youth Director

Caution! Don't blink! If you do, you'll miss him!  Tom is one of the most high-energy individuals you are likely to ever meet. He is a natural with a contageous smile, quick wit, and love of the Lord. If you are looking for Tom, you might find him in the pulpit, with a water hose at Vacation Bible School, hosting lunch with our young people on "no-school Mondays," tubing down an ice-cold spring-fed river with a bunch of noisy teenagers... or chasing the youth around the go-kart track --on foot even (well, not really).

Tom joined the staff of The Village Church January 1, 2006. Tom has nearly 3 decades of Youth Ministry service, having served United Methodist, Independent, and Presbyterian congregations in Pennsylvania before spending six years as Youth Director at Palms Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville Beach. He has also worked for Lutheran and Non-Denominational camps, written curriculum for Presbyterian camping programs, and served as a District Youth Coordinator in the United Methodist Church. He has also taught physical education and health classes, coached basketball and soccer, and served as Athletic Director in Christian Schools.

Nita Roberts - Choir Director/Music Ministry/Board of Stewards

Our very talented Choir Director, Nita Roberts, comes to us from a rich heritage of ministry. Growing up a PK (preacher's kid) prepared her for the job she does for us all through the year--from directing our choir, singing solos, handling special announcements for Mother's Day, Father's Day and the like, orchestrating our special music at Easter and Christmas, and her dedication and support of  The Village Church in general. She invites those who have a talent and love of singing to meet with her about joining our choir (shameless plug here...).

Julie McWhorter - Organist/Pianist/Musician

During church services every Sunday, you can find Julie providing us the music that we sing to, that the choir sings to..and often that she herself sings to as soloist while she is playing...all the while making eye contact with the congregation and rarely needing to consult her music. Some folks think that Julie has a twin because she is playing the electric piano to the left of the stage one moment, then at the organ on the right side of the pulpit less than 10 seconds later, and then in the risers with the choir after you look up again. Julie's warm spirit and dedication show every Sunday, and she helps us make a joyful noise to the Lord through her gift of music. Thank You, Julie!

Nadine Glomboski - Office Administrator

Nadine is "the voice of The Village Church" as she is likely the one you will speak to when calling the office. Nadine also handles the administrative functions of providing the bulletin to us each week, handling the banking transactions, recording the registrations for people signing up for Wonderful Wednesdays, Matt's Meals and Vacation Bible School. In addition, there are 11,289 other tasks she does---all to make our church run as smoothly as possible (including "managing" our 2 demanding pastors from time to time...). Before joining the staff at The Village Church, Nadine held several administrative positions in sales and customer service. Most of her experience in bookkeeping and customer service was gained when she assisted her husband run his manufacturing business in New Jersey. Nadine states, "I truly feel that God has directed me all along to come to this place, to this position, at this time. It is such an honor and so rewarding to be doing Gods' work every day in our church."

Sherry McCaulley - Sunday School Administrator

Sherry McCaulley is a native of Florida and has been active in church her whole life. One of the things she enjoys most is any opportunity to interact with children, hopefully touch their lives in some way and help them to grow in their relationship with God.
So when
you hear the laughter, shouts, singing and general activities of our children, you can rest assured that they are in the good hands of our Sunday School Administrator, Sherry McCaulley. It doesn't just stop at Sunday School--she is an integral part of our Vacation Bible School ministry in planning and working with Tom and the others to  provide our youngest worshippers with an enriched learning environment during the summer. Sherry fulfills one of Christ's missions when he invited the children to come to him. We are blessed to have Sherry handling this very important role at The Village Church.
